The Simpson garden

A new walkway, raised garden and lighting at the front door.

Herringbone walkway and charcoal raised garden wall at Simpson

THE PROJECT

A new path around an existing tree.

The Simpson project replaced the old concrete walk and timber edging with charcoal pavers and a raised garden wall. The existing tree stayed at the centre, with lights tucked beneath the wall caps.

BEFORE & AFTER

Before and after.

The before photos show the concrete path and timber garden edge. The new paving runs from the sidewalk to the porch, with a capped wall keeping the planting bed separate from the walkway.

AFTER / New paving and a raised garden wall beside the porch.

THE PAVING

Herringbone paving, right up to the porch.

The pavers are laid in a herringbone pattern with a straight border around the edges. The same paving continues across the landing at the porch steps.

THE LIGHTING

The garden after dark.

Lights beneath the wall caps cast a warm glow across the path. You can see the placement in the close-up photos and the effect in the evening view.
